Love Yourself & Your Mind

Because your mental health matters just as much as your physical health.”

This April, we’re putting the spotlight on something we all need more of—self-love and mental wellness. It’s easy to focus on grades, sports, and responsibilities… But how often do we pause to take care of our inner world?

Teens and families, this month is your reminder: you are not just a body moving through the day. You are a whole human—mind, heart, and soul.

Here’s how to start loving yourself and your mind more deeply:

  1. Create a “Feel Good” List
    Write down 5 things that make you feel calm, confident, or happy. Post it somewhere visible. Use it as your go-to when you’re feeling off.
  2. Try Box Breathing
    Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat 4 times. It calms the nervous system and helps your brain reset. Try it before bed or before a test. 
  3. Journal for 5 Minutes
    Journaling helps organize your thoughts, especially when your brain feels like a browser with 25 tabs open. Try this prompt: “What does my mind need from me today?”
  4. Speak Up When You’re Struggling
    Loving your mind means reaching out when it’s too heavy to carry alone. You’re never weak for needing support. In fact, that’s real strength.
  5. Feed Your Mind with Positivity
    Swap out some screen time for music that lifts you up, a podcast that makes you think, or a conversation with someone who gets you.

To every teen reading this:
You are not your anxiety. You are not your bad day. You are not your mistakes.
You are growing. You are learning. You are so worth loving.

And families, thanks for showing up! The more we talk openly about mental health, the more we create a world where young people feel safe to be exactly who they are.

Let April be the month you say:

"I am enough exactly as I am."
"My mind deserves kindness, rest, and care."
"I can feel big emotions and still be in control."
"I’m allowed to take up space and be heard."
