RAP - Registered Apprenticeship Program

RAP - Registered Apprenticeship Program

RAP is a Government of Alberta program that allows high school students to begin their apprenticeship training and complete high school at the same time. Students can earn high school credits while they learn a trade and bank apprenticeship hours. RAP students are both full time students and registered apprentices dividing their time between an approved work site and their high school studies. The RAP apprenticeship end when the RAP apprentice completes high school requirements or the employer terminates the position. The RAP apprentice is them automatically registered as a regular apprentice and the credit earned while in the RAP program is applied to his or her regular apprenticeship.
