February - Compassion

This month we are focusing on Compassion.  At BCHS we will be focusing on self-compassion. Self compassion can help teenagers be more kind with themselves, improve their self-esteem and recover more quickly from mistakes. Self compassion can help teenagers learn to be less hard on themselves and have more compassion for others.

What is Self Compassion?

Dr. Kristin Neff, leading researcher on self compassion defines self-compassion as “acting in the same way toward yourself [as you act toward others] when you are having a difficult time, fail, or notice something you don’t like about yourself. “
